Set in 1930s Mississippi and loosely inspired by Homer’s Odyssey, this film follows escaped convict Ulysses Everett McGill and his fellow fugitives, Delmar and Pete, on a wild, picaresque journey to recover stolen bank loot. Along the way, they encounter an eccentric cast of characters including seductive sirens, a one-eyed Bible salesman, “Baby Face” Nelson, political rivals and a blind prophet who cryptically warns them: “The treasure you seek shall not be the treasure you find.”
