Cheech and Chong cross paths by chance on a California highway and team up to search for some weed. Their misadventures lead to an accidental deportation to Mexico, where, desperate to return in time for a gig, they agree to drive a van back across the border. Unbeknownst to them, the van is made entirely of marijuana. Along the way, they pick up two female hitchhikers and unknowingly stay one step ahead of the cops, who are hot on their trail.
