Danny Noonan, an underachieving 17-year-old, works as a caddy at the prestigious Bushwood Country Club in Beverly Hills, hoping to save enough money for college. He frequently caddies for the smooth and skilled golfer Ty Webb, the son of one of Bushwood's founders. Seeking to secure a scholarship, Danny sets his sights on impressing Judge Elihu Smails, the club's strict co-founder and director of the caddy program. Meanwhile, groundskeeper Carl Spackler is locked in a ridiculous battle with a troublesome gopher, determined to eradicate it through increasingly absurd tactics. Despite his efforts, the wily creature continues to outsmart him, adding to the film’s comedic chaos.
