He frequently caddies for the smooth and skilled golfer Ty Webb, the son of one of Bushwood's founders. Seeking to secure a scholarship, Danny sets his sights on impressing Judge Elihu Smails, the club's strict co-founder and director of the caddy program. Meanwhile, groundskeeper Carl Spackler is locked in a ridiculous battle with a troublesome gopher, determined to eradicate it through increasingly absurd tactics. Despite his efforts, the wily creature continues to outsmart him, adding to the film’s comedic chaos.
