Dave Lister and Arnold Rimmer serve as technicians aboard the mining ship Red Dwarf, but their clashing personalities make them bitter enemies. After being put into stasis for a disciplinary offense, Lister awakens to discover he’s the sole surviving crew member, following a catastrophic accident. However, he's not entirely alone—Rimmer has been resurrected as a hologram to keep him company, much to Lister’s dismay. Also aboard is the highly evolved descendant of Lister’s smuggled cat, now taking on a humanoid form after three million years of evolution. Together, this unlikely crew embarks on a series of bizarre adventures across the universe.
